MONTREAL, September 9, 2026 – Fuel Transport, a leading North American logistics and transportation company, today announced the appointment of Freddy Beltran as Data & AI Director, strengthening the company’s leadership in data and artificial intelligence as it advances the next phase of its technology transformation.
The appointment builds on Fuel’s ongoing investment in technology and AI, with a growing focus on creating the data, governance and internal capabilities needed to translate emerging technologies into measurable business value.
In his role, Beltran will work alongside Sana Chaarani, who was also recently appointed as Fuel’s Vice President of Technology, to advance the company’s data and AI roadmap. His mandate will include strengthening data governance, mapping business processes and technology capabilities, and identifying opportunities where automation, analytics and AI can improve decision-making, increase efficiency and support growth.
“AI is creating a substantial opportunity, but realizing that opportunity requires more than adopting the latest technology,” said Sana Chaarani. “It requires strong data foundations, a clear understanding of the business and discipline around where and how we invest. Freddy brings a rare combination of expertise that will be invaluable as we build capabilities that create lasting value for Fuel and our customers.”
Beltran is an Enterprise and Data Architect who evolved to AI Architecture and Data Scientist specializing in time-series forecasting. A systems engineer by training, with roots in operational research mathematics and software engineering, he built his career in full-stack development before progressing through solution and enterprise architecture roles at global corporations.
Prior to joining Fuel, he developed AI-powered platforms and methodologies designed to help SMBs structure, align and execute business and technology strategies. His work includes a patent-pending AI methodology for identifying and measuring alignment and risk across corporate, business, IT, data, AI and ESG plans.
“What stood out to me about Fuel was the commitment from leadership to treat data and AI as real business capabilities, rather than isolated technology projects,” said Beltran. “Our focus is on building the right foundations, understanding where the opportunities are, and delivering value incrementally. That means using technology where it makes sense to help our teams make better decisions, work more effectively and ultimately create more value for the business and our customers.”
Beltran is also the creator of MyStratos.ai, an AI-powered strategic planning platform designed to help organizations turn complex and unstructured business information into structured digital transformation, AI strategies, plans and decision-making frameworks. His work in this area builds on research completed through the McGill–HEC Montréal Executive MBA program, where he developed a methodology for integrating ESG strategy into the business models.
Fuel is currently advancing a multi-year roadmap to build greater maturity across data and AI, while pursuing initiatives designed to deliver incremental value throughout that journey. The approach includes strengthening how data is governed and accessed across the organization, building greater visibility into business processes and technology, and identifying opportunities for automation, forecasting and more informed decision-making.
