Meet Dmytro, hybrid coordinator
Our hybrid coordinator, Dmytro, is the kind of guy who sees what he wants and goes for it. He wanted a life in Canada, so he immigrated from Ukraine and got himself a truck-driving job in Winnipeg. Then, when he moved to Montreal and laid eyes on a Fuel Transport truck gliding down the highway, it was love at first sight.
“I saw their trucks on the road, and I was like, ‘Wow.’ They’re well-maintained. They shine so bright. Their trucks are very good.”
Opportunity knocks
The mere sight of our assets made Dmytro want to work for Fuel, but instead of just submitting a resumé online and crossing his fingers, he took it one step further and brought his ambitions to us, face-to-face.
“I walked right into their office and said, ‘Hey guys, I want to be a truck driver here.’ They were like, ‘Okay, let’s look at your CV.’”
With a leg up
After driving for Fuel for two years, Dmytro decided that he wanted a new challenge. He wanted to experience a completely different side of the supply chain, and he knew that his years of experience delivering goods would set him up for success.
“This past winter, I transitioned to operations. It wasn’t difficult to jump into the office position because I know so much about the industry already.”
Fueled by the challenge
People like Dmytro are naturally driven to achieve goals, and these are the types of people who thrive on our ops teams, because every day includes a different goal (and different obstacles that need maneuvering to achieve it).
“We have challenges every day and I love it. We have to solve millions of problems. I love coming here every day and working with my team to solve them. It gives me energy.”
Staying unstoppable
Dmytro’s role isn’t only about achieving a goal and adapting to sudden roadblocks, but keeping focused on what needs to get done, while a flurry of activity is demanding your attention simultaneously.

“You have multiple tasks going at the same time. You’re always talking to someone – the carriers, the drivers – and you’re getting distracted always. You have to keep track of everything on your list without missing anything. It’s all about multitasking.”
No matter what issue his team is tackling, what distraction they’re managing, or what load they’re delivering, there is one ultimate goal that Dmytro is always focused on.
“When our clients are happy, we’re happy.”
Eye on the prize
Dmytro’s passion for getting after goals extends to the field as well, having played professional soccer growing up and still playing recreationally for two Ukrainian teams here in Montreal. He’s one of many Fuel employees who prove themselves to be team players in multiple areas of their lives.
When he’s not scoring wins for his clients or in his cleats, Dmytro’s following another one of his passions at top speed.
“I ride motorcycles. I have a bike here in Montreal, and I’ll never give it up. It’s in my blood.”
Maybe it’s because Fuel first caught his attention on the highway, but there’s something poetic about Dmytro’s love of motorcycles. Out of everything he sets his sights on, there’s no better goal than hitting the open road.
