Montreal, QC – July 13, 2022 – Fuel Transport is proud to announce that we have partnered with Monarque Tutoring to help them activate a special edition of their annual Monarque Summer Camp: a summer camp dedicated to Ukrainian children who have been displaced by the on-going conflict in their native country. 

Over the course of the summer, 120 children are expected to attend the camp. Many of them have arrived in Montreal between March and June of this year, and have had to leave behind family members while finding refuge in Montreal with their mothers or designated guardians. And so, the goal of the camp is to give them a sense of normalcy and belonging, and maybe even a second chance at childhood. Throughout their time at the camp, the children will take part in a number of hands-on educational activities and collaborative games in art, stem, performing arts, wellness, sports and more, including a multi-cultural day that will introduce the children to some Montreal classics in the area, like St-Viateur Bagel and Lester’s smoked meat.

Community is a core value here at Fuel. As the world has looked on as the crisis in Ukraine continues, the Monarque Summer Camp is a tangible way we could actively and positively contribute to the people of Ukraine, to the supporting people and organizations here, and to the ties that bind us all together. As the main sponsor of the summer camp, we are proud to be contributing to a program that provides these children with activities for them to play and learn, while simultaneously allowing for single mothers to take language classes and look for work. Additionally, we have provided every child with a backpack full of camp essentials and fun gadgets, and hopefully, equipping them with a sense of readiness and confidence for this new adventure.
